You can disregard this. I had to setup a vmac and ipv4 address before ipv6 would work.

Hello. I have recently deployed a FreeBSD 10.3-RELEASE VM on ESXi 5.5 on my HOST-32L dedicated server.

I have followed the directions here: http://help.ovh.com/Ipv4Ipv6

This document is outdated for FreeBSD, but I can infer what information I will need. Specifically, that given the IPv6 address I have assigned to this VM, which is 2607:5300:61:54c::1, the default gateway should be 2607:5300:61:5ff:ff:ff:ff:ff.

However, this is not on the same /64, so I can either expand the suggested network to /48 so that the gateway is on the same network as my IP, or I can add a specific route for that IP to the em0 interface. I have tried both options. Currently, I have it setup with a /48 instead of /64.

The relevant part of my rc.conf looks like this:

ifconfig_em0_ipv6="inet6 2607:5300:61:54c::1 prefixlen 48"
ipv6_defaultrouter="2607:5300:61:5ff:ff:ff:ff:ff"

But when I ping the gateway IP from the VM, the requests all timeout.

Help!

Here is some relevant output from the VM:
