You can setup vmbr0 exactly same as proxmox server. If it did not work, you can login via iKVM and modify the config.

I note that the dedicated server's eth0 is put into bridge mode with a virtual dummy NIC and 2 vimbr0 and 1 set up. Is that an auto config done by proxmox software much like LXC creates a virtual interface?

If so, is it possible to replicate these settings on a bare bones linux box such as Ubuntu 14.04 trusty?

Reason I ask is because I have had issues manually bridging the server, it is possible that I made a typo in the set up and that would definitely bring everything to halt.

I might add that attaching VMs I configured their respective /etc/network/interfaces per the OVH official guide. There is no guide on how to set up the host's interface to become a bridge itself. Proxmox template creates one and I am just wondering if I can manually replicate that.
