How to Install an SSL

Your common name must match your domain name (or be an appropriate wildcard, e.g. *.example.com for example.com). You will need to have your CA (RapidSSL) re-issue the certificate with the proper common name. There is nothing you can change on your server to fix this.

Hello,

I bought and installed a Rapid SSL and got a following error:

"The domain name does not match the certificate common name or SAN"

I checked the certificate information and found that the common name is my vps server name, but not my domain name.

Can some experts let me know what I need to do. Should I modify the /etc/hosts and add my IP, my domain.com and www.mydomain.com to ito or modify the server name as well?

Thanks in advance!
