Out of space, partition issues.

Good day,
Trying to setup a newer E3-SAT-3 Installed debian 8 (jessie) 64 bit with the default partition scheme which should but all user files into /home but im noticing everything is going to / which has cause the / to fill up as it's only 20gb I've never run into this issue before, including on my other e3- server with soyoustart. How would i go about fixing this so all the user files run from the larger partition. If need be i can reinstall the server (again) but this will continue to happen even with a reinstall unless i get the partitions figured out to work correctly.
