How do I set up the backup

FYI, I tested with the API.

It states that the IP must belong to the server when adding to ACL, but I tried anyway.

Code:
Unauthorized (401) { "message": "The ipBlock xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/32 does not belong to the service linked to the BackupFtp" }
So, yeah it can only be accessed from the server.

If you want to connect from your mac, you're best bet is installing a small vpn or doing ssh proxing for your mac to your server, then to the backup server.

You cannot connect from your home/business/mobile connection directly.
Ooooh I get it now, So when it was talking about Windows and Linux it meant like a virtual desktop.
Got it.

Ill try and work through command line instead
Glad we got this sorted out, Thanks mate!

You may be able to load a ftp or use ssh's sftp services on your server and use something like ftp-fs and mount the ftp server locally on your server and then access it from your server. You need to get creative to do what you want to do.

I have not checked, but there may be a way to use OVH's API to authorize your home IP, but I doubt it.

I deleted the access and remade it.
Reset the password and try connecting again.
Still getting this.

Xyberviri: isn't that what I said? "There is an option in the so you start manager to add access to the storage, which should allow you to add login access for your ip blocks."

Deimos161: That sounds like the IP your connecting to the FTP server isn't on the authorized IP list.
It is not possible to connect from home or ip's outside of what you control without creating a VPN on your servers or some other bouncer.
For all other IP's other than master, you need to allow them in the OVH control panel.

I know you said you set that up a while ago, but double check that it's still set.

you can reset the password on your control panel.

It will take a few minutes after enabling access for other IP's before login will work.
The password should fail on all other IP's.
This may not be accurate, Im able to add access to all the servers on my account to all the FTP backup locations so of 3 servers i was able to go into my control panel and i just clicked AddAccess and i had all my servers available.

I'm coping the details directly from the email I was sent when I reset the password.

You could only access the backup environment from your server's master IP.
There is an option in the so you start manager to add access to the storage, which should allow you to add login access for your ip blocks.
